Collect images: order of film rolls

In previous versions of darktable film rolls were ordered be name, now they’re ordered by import time. This isn’t a big issue when importing existing several folders at once which are named by date, but it seems smaller folders are imported faster and thus ordered before a bigger ones although they should be ordered according to there name.

Long explanation, short question: how can I get the old behaviour back respectively an ordering by name? I don’t like the ‘folder’ mode, because of the indentation.

You can’t. It’s part of the code. Apparently this is by design.

Thanks! I wasn’t aware, that the filter for ordering applies to that too.

As far as I know, collections are ordered by film ID, which is equivalent to the order in which you imported them into darktable.

FYI old sorting behaviour can now be reinstated by a preference setting in latest master (and upcoming darktable 3.2)

That’s great to know. Thanks!

Another ground to not use “collections”.
One tool, one use.
I use darktable only for demosaicing raw images and very basic corrections, after using Kphotoalbum (to see and manage raw and final images) and before Gimp to obtain my final images.
