Color cast on GMIC filters on GMIP

I am on Win10 64 system and installed GIMP 2.10 from @partha’s place. It comes bundled with GMIC filters. I have noticed a strange color cast after using GMIC filters. here are the two screenshots that show the issue.

After applying Sharpen filter of G’MIC

There was no such issue on previous versions of GIMP from @partha. I have not changed any calibration since the last properly working version. Has anyone else noticed this?

EDIT: I noticed now that color cast only occurs if I output from G’MIC to a New Layer. There is no such effect if I use the default In Place output. Thus, a workaround will be to duplicate the layer and use G’MIC with default output.

Which sharpen filter did you use? There was no colour cast in the (randomly chosen) unsharp mask result.

I used Sharpen[texture]. But strangely, now I am not able to duplicate the error. More trials are required. Don’t know what is happening.
EDIT: This is what I did for my first report.

  1. Opened RAW file using Nufraw.
  2. Changed the image attribute to 32 bit integer.
  3. Duplicated the layer and desaturated it using Desaturate>Luminance.
  4. Created Luminosity masks.
  5. Used the Curve module with layer mask (one of the luminosity mask)
  6. Merged down the layer with mask.
  7. Applied Sharpen [texture] filter with New Layer as output mode.
  8. Yellow colour cast was observed.
  9. Instead of Sharpen, if I use any other filter still the same color cast is seen.
This is a repeatable experiment for me. Applying Curves with Layer Mask and then using G’MIC gives color cast.

I haven’t retraced your steps due to time constraints. It would be nice if you included an XCF. That way someone could easily check for you.

@shreedhar

It’s possible that you’re working with an ICC profile other than sRGB which is what G’MIC expects. It does not handle other profiles. Check your ICC profile. You can also check the logfile that’s created whenever my builds are run.

Thanks @partha for your immediate reply. Your builds are always awesome! Thanks a lot for your efforts. I appreciate your commitment a lot and I will dig further in this issue and report. As I said, I have found a workaround. Lets see if I can be more specific.
