Color management with RT

I don’t understand it. I use RT 5.4 and RT5.4-dev-current on Linux but the question is about RT. My color management settings are:

  1. I have done my calibration. ASUS monitor with with sRGB. I have my ICC file running under X.
  2. I’m trying to output: sRGB jpegs

My questions are

  1. What do I say here?

Asus or RTv2_SRGB?

  1. What about in the color management section?

Should it be the rtv2_srgb or the asus profile?

Thanks

Syv

sRGB is your output profile.

What do you actually not understand? Your settings seem to be correct.

  • The output profile is the profile you embed in the JPEG you create to ensure other viewers interpret the image the same way (if they are properly color managed).
  • Your monitor profile is the same in your Preferences and in the bar at the bottom of the editor. This ensures your preview is correctly rendered according to your monitor calibration.

I asked because I wasn’t sure about it. and I couldn’t find some place that explained the various uses of the profiles. Plenty on what are the colour profiles but not on how to use them.

Thanks

Syv

#1 is for your screen.
#2 is for your output file.
