Colour mapping in darktable - is it possible?

I have what might be a simple question. I have some photos of smoke, and am processing them in both darktable followed by a gradient map in GIMP. I’d like to know if it’s possible to do this entirely in darktable?

Here is my source image after processing with darktable:

And here is what I want it to look like:

The GIMP step is a “sample colorize” (red to yellow gradient). This seems like something that should be possible solely in darktable, but I can’t get the results I want - is it possible?

There are many different color processing options in darktable that in combination with its powerful parametric masking and multi-instance image operations, can be used for color mapping. For example, I used two instances of colorize iop in the following version to achieve a similar result (its sidecard). Hope this helps.
