Recently I photographed a rainbow, the photo itself is not very good. But I would like to highlight the arch so that it stands out better against the cloudy background. I tried different things, e.g. masking (but how do I mask an arch? which parameters are useful?) or colour balance RGB (but the rainbow contains all colours…). I have not found a satisfactory solution. What would be your approach?
Thanks for all the input! There are a few ideas in there that I would never have thought of. I’m surprised that they all brighten up the foreground, which I think is superfluous and would rather cut off…
@Mattes i think, the foreground is important for this pic, to give it some depth. Cutting it, will show clouds and a rainbow only and the pic will turn to kind of boring.
@marter You are right, I was too much focused on the rainbow.
Thank you all for your input! It’s interesting to see how many different approaches are possible…
