Commit number on Gimp git

Hi,

When I build GIMP GIT from an appimage (Release Continuous · aferrero2707/gimp-appimage · GitHub) I cannot find the corresponding commit anywhere. When I click in ‘about’ it only says gimp 2.10.1 but displays no commit. Where can I find the commit number?

The easiest thing I can do is to put the commit hash in the appimage name…

“The easiest thing I can do is to put the commit hash in the appimage name…”

Thanks Carmelo. But how do I do that?

@SheetM I think he means that he will consider doing that to the appimage names.

That would be great!!

In the application itself is it not possible to retrieve the commit number?

It used to say on the background, but now anymore afaik.

ps: ok I have checked GIMP GIT 2.99 and it does feature the commit number on it. Yey! BTW, the zoom in/out by scrolling the mouse is reversed in GIMP 2.99.
