Console Messages - record all steps, missing messages (V1.0.0 rc2, Win7)

Hi,

I am new here, so pls. be patient with me

I followed the steps of the beginners tutorial with scripts. I am wondering, why some steps are shown in the console window and some are not. See PS below.

Therefore, I do not know if the steps finished. (I can only move the mouse to the undo button where I can see the last step executed ina tooltip.) Maybe there should be at least a “finished” message in the console with a minimum information what happened. Maybe this is a feature request, pls. think about it.

My question is:
How can I safe all the steps I made to a file? I could then create a script and finetune my actions. However, I do not see the commands in the console window and cannot copy/paste. Are the steps I made logged somewhere? Do I have to write the commands on my own with the parameters I set in the GUI? (To make it short, I am asking for a “macro recorder”.)

As a beginner, it is a bit hard to play with the parameters if I have to click through all the menus over and over again (trial and error).

I had a very hard time with DSS on M42, a desaster, I got a pink spot and nothing else. But with SiriL I could create a wonderful image simply by following the tutorial for beginners! Great software! :+1: :+1:
Enclosed you will find my “second” light, Celestron CPC 8inch, 2000mmxreducer0,67, Canon 1000D, 40x30sec, 30 Bias, 2 Darks, no Flats (I changed the sript “OSC_Preprocessing.ssf” accordingly) => stacked with SiriL

Hi @cavallino and thanks for your interest in Siril!

  1. Indeed, some commands do write their execution time in the Console (whan they have completed) and some do not. We will sure try to improve and get a consistant behavior in the next releases.

2.We have a ticket on this one: Script command stubs in log output (#690) · Issues · FA / Siril · GitLab and we may have a contributor who has started working on this matter.
For the time being, when you save your image, all the actions you have performed through the UI get written in the HISTORY card of the FITS header, so that when you reopen, you can see what you have done previously. Not exactly what you are after, but at least, you don’t have to write down everything, the actions get logged somewhere.

Cheers,

Cecile

Thank you Cecile,

so, let’s wait and see :))
