Copy/Pasting Profiles or Settings not Intuitive

FYI here.

I find Rawtherapee lacks easy copy/pasting of profiles to other images. After awhile, I realized the following steps were required:

  1. First, copy the profile of the current working image to the clipboard using the far upper-right copy profile menu button. (Think CTRL-C copies the working profile as well.)
  2. Select the raw images (e.g. CTRL + Right Mouse Button click), either within folder view or the film strip.
  3. Paste the profile settings using CTRL-V key combination.

Note: Paste Profile menu button in the far upper right only works on the current working image and not the selected images within the film strip!

I’m also working with an X-Rite color checker for setting image White Balance, and finally realized I can first set the White Balance on the color checker raw image file, and then use “File Browser > Batch Edit” instead of manually writing the White Balance value down using pencil & paper.

Probably some simple documentation could easily remedy this, although I may have forgotten any mention of this within the Rawtherapee manual. Saving & importing saved profiles was easily learned, or the first forced-upon task of beginning Rawtherapee. The above steps streamline this process though within a workflow pattern.

I’ve read the whole manual… once.

Section: Copypasta (i.e. Copy & Pasting)

Might want to include “(i.e. Copy & Pasting)” next to “Copypasta”, as Copypasta is not a word defined within commonly used dictionaries. (eg. Most older people won’t have a clue what this means.)
