Came across this video on Youtube, so I thought I’d give this method a whirl. After building a few AppImages using the method therein, I even wrote a script so I could do everything in future with a just few clicks of the mouse.
But something didn’t seem quite right to me, so I decided to uninstall the apps from my system and my suspicions were confirmed: while the AppImages worked fine beforehand, none of them worked after uninstalling their system-installed counterparts. Can you spot the reason why?
