Current state of support for Canon EOS 5D Mark IV?

Just started using darktable more seriously (3.2.1 under Gentoo Linux) , but found the Canon 5D Mark IV missing from the list of supported cameras. Forum posts concerning this camera seem to date from 2017. Is this still the state of affairs? What kind of pictures would be needed to incorporate this camera (ok: tripod, landscape, properly exposed; but which lenses, what kind of subject, which f-stops, which iso values?).

Moinchen, @koslowj & welcome!

Hi Claes, Can’t see your screen shot, unfortunately. When I go to “lens corrections” in darktable, the camera field is empty, while the lens is being identified correctly. Then it says “camera/lens not found - please select manually”. But the selection menu doesn’t show the 5D Mark IV, only the EOS 5D Mark III, and then the EOS 600 D. Hope that clarifies my problem.

So dt can handle the raw files, it’s lensfun that seems to have a problem.
if you have installed the lensfun tools, you can try to use

lensfun-update-data

from a terminal prompt (as user, not as root)
