The “windows insider” is a master build for addressing any problems in windows that are on master. Adding CR3 work on top of that might create unnecessary noise for it’s purpose. Martin’s work is awesome but it’s additional separate thing.
If you don’t have a cr3 camera, then it’s highly recommended to use just the beta insider build because thats made in a well defined build environment so bugs can be reproduced.
But that build won’t be useful if you need native cr3 support - so a working solution is better than no solution ;).
After cr3 support is merged in rawspeed and integrated in current master this thread will end.
If you don’t need cr3 support you‘d better use the build from darktable windows insider program 8/29 since that is build under more reproducible conditions than my build that’s primarily build and optimized to my system configuration;)
i just build it using the build instructions on darktables github without really knowing exactly what’s happening under the hood.
So i won’t change stuff that’s simply working for me …
don’t forget to backup …
PS: if you don’t need cr3 support better stay with the build from recent darktable insider program post darktable windows insider program 10/10
Hi Martin,
I used the improved rotation and perspective module in the previous build and it was very impressive because it allowed me to select the four corners manually to square up a shot. Great job by the developer. The build seemed very stable as well.
