Dabbling With B&W Film (Struggling with Colour Film in Negadoctor)

Finally got round to scanning and processing a roll of HP5+ from the winter. I have a roll of Kodak Gold scanned, too, but find Darktable’s negadoctor module quite fiddly and time consuming with colour film and can’t seem to get the film base colour picker to work correctly.

gorgeous tone quality here… love the second one.

generally speaking as a dev: if you can make a playraw with an example that was hard to work with it often helps to evolve tools.

Thanks! Good idea. I’ll post something when I’ve got a moment.

JFYI, tried posting a PlayRAW but RAW file was too big as I’d used hi-res mode on the digital camera when I digitized the negatives. Will try at some later date. I managed to do a better job with a suggestion from @Claes to use the RGB Limit module to auto set the white level.

Ooof that must be big? Maybe you could zip it or if all else fails host it elsewhere… not sure.

Yeah, it was upwards of 100mb. There should be a regular standard def file output by the camera at the same time but I guess I deleted it as I can’t find it in Darktable or the trash
