Dark winter forest

Morning walk in dark(ish) winter forest.

My quick darktable version. Was eager to see what others would do for this kind of photos, so I need to use more time with this in the future.

@123sg your edit has beautiful depth and dimension to it. The way the snow is lightened makes the viewer journey into the image. Well done. The blue coloring is also very suited to this image. Here is my version inspired by your interpretation of the scene.

It is impossible for me to predict how my edits will be exported after the diffuse and sharpen treatment.
Below a stamp of what i see on my monitor with the sidecar file of the actual edit.

Thanks to everyone who has shown their version. I’ve been busy with my 366/2024 image project, so I haven’t had time to go through these in more detail yet.

It’s really hard for me to make my own version very bright when the forest was dark and cold (-25 degrees Celsius) and the only light came from the stars and the light pollution of the city.
