darktable 3.8.0 printing - anyone got it to work?

I have been trying to print using the new print module in darktable 3.8.0 but without success.
No matter how I place the images on the canvas the output is the same. The image(s) are cutoff and not even closely placed the way they are on the canvas. There print seems to be a scaling differently depending on the image source e.g. whether it is a raw image (arw) or a jpeg from a mobile phone.
I am on Ubuntu 20.04 and using the build from “Pascal de Bruijn pmjdebruijn@pcode.nl”. I have been using different printers and also a “PDF” printer to save paper and ink.

Ubuntu 20.04, dt 3.9.0+18~gc216add76 (build from source, git master)
Printing with PDF printer via CUPS (package printer-driver-cups-pdf) works for me without any difficulty. Printing from JPEG and Sony RAW images.

Works also for me on two different real printers (Epson 3880 & Canon Pro 10000) and with a fake PDF printer.

Ok. Thank you.
Cleared the ~/.config/darktable folder and now it works as intended when re-importing the same problematic images.

One more update.

It seems that the print module is affected by the lighttable export settings. If you “set size” to “by scale (for file)” in the export module you are not able to change the way the images are printed in the print module even though the print module states it is scaling the image.

Note that the ppa you’re using isn’t updated too frequently.

Hi,
it maybe slightly off-topic but I have following problem:
I use DT on a Mac. With DT 3.8, I cannot use the printing module, which worked flawlessly in 3.6). The image seems to upload (the image information is available) but on the central panel there is a grey square whose size changes according to the chosen size of the paper. What have been your experience?
Thank you very much for any comments /suggestions.
