darktable 4.2.1 rotate & perspective bug?

Hi all,

I have just installed the dmg binary for darktable 4.2.1 (Mac Os 12.6.3) and I noticed a weird behavior of the Rotate and Perspective module. When I open the module, even without touching any settings (i.e. no rotation or perspective correction), the image rotates a bit to the left, returning to its original state when I close the module. This is problematic because if I do some rotation within the module so to have the image look straight, when I close the module that small “ghost” rotation is added and the image is not straight anymore. Anybody else noticing this?

As usual, a big thanks to the developers for the new version!

Actually, I just found out that this occurs only on some images from last year, therefore processed with an older version of darktable. On newly imported images, the issue is not present.

Nevertheless I think a DT principle is that old edits should work ok on new DT versions.

A bug when the new version has been introduced probably. If you can create an issue on GitHub with a RAW & the .xmp (old one, not opened by new dt) it would be great (and only way for us to look at the issue). Thanks.

I am trying to file the bug, but cannot attach raw+xmp. Can you tell me how to do it? thanks

Never mind, I zipped the files and it worked.
