Can you make it crash completely?
No, it goes unresponsive, non of the ui elements work, but I can still close it normally.
I’ve tried a snap of 4.5 and I get something new when it freezes:
** (darktable:15521): WARNING **: 19:18:17.268: atk-bridge: get_device_events_reply: unknown signature
The last line of the log might indicate to a file write access problem… Darktable would just keep trying to write the xmp file. There is no timeout for this …
Is there anything I can do to fix that?. I have tried with a fresh photo without xmps in an isolated directory, but with the same results.
I think it must be my system as I have even compiled 4.4.1 and still having the same issue.
I’ve gone back to 4.2 and everything seems to be working fine. Shame, but I can’t find any more log information to provide to help the developers.
If only you knew how much BS one has to take from the dev community to get the point across that this proposed change is good. Never again.
