darktable 4.4 macOS UI issue

I am running dt in M1 macbook. I am not able to properly use the dropdown menus anywhere inside darktable. Modules, preferences, …
I am seeing only partial list when click on the drop down (down arrow mark or the burger menu). Sometimes the drop down is shown in a small screen disjointed from the UI element.
I didn’t see this issue in previous (4.2 or 4.0) version.

does this also occur when running darkble with a clean config?
to check:
rename ~/.config/darktable/darktablerc to something different so a new initial config is created on statup

Great. That did it. Thanks a bunch

I have the same problem as Nilangiriyar; I renamed, delete the folder; of course Darktable has generated a new folder but the problem remains… If anyone has an idea… thanks in advance. I have an M1 Imac 24.

Sorry to say. The UI is behaving same now after 4.4.2. I cleared up .config/darktable, .cache/darktable, .local/share/darktable (deleted these dirs). The drop down menu list is truncated mainly in the modules in darktable mode

you have a 2 screen configuration? is the behaviour on both screens?

@MStraeten I have 2 screens : Imac 24" and Eizo CG 279X and the problem remains only on the Eizo. Have you some idea to solve this problem. Thanks

known issue: macOS: menu boxes doesn't fit if using external display · Issue #14856 · darktable-org/darktable · GitHub
unfortunately no solution yet

@MStraeten Thanks a lot for your quick answer. I will change my Imac for a Mac studio in some weeks and I am thinking to install linux. Do you think Ubuntu is a good choice?

i don’t have experience with darktable on linux

@MStraeten Thanks. Have a nice day.

the issue doesn’t occur if i use a build made with gtk3 3.24.38 instead of 3.24.37
Unfortunately gtk3 3.24.38 has redrawing issue on scaling the darktable window. (might need more attempts on resizing until the screen is properly redrawn)
In my opinion the redraw issue is something dual screen users can rather live with …

So here’s your choice:
a build with gtk3 3.24.38 that runs properly on my m1max mbp with external display (same build environment as the official 4.4.2 arm build):
darktable-4.4.2_arm64_gtk3.24.38.dmg
