Other advice see https://www.howto-connect.com/exception-access-violation-error-0xc0000005-windows/
I tried everything i could but still the crash persists if I try to use the import module.
However drag and drop function works fine, so i am still able to use this last release.
Since i am the only one who encoutered this crash, I think I have something installed or some setting that causes the access violation, but i really can’t detect it.
thank you for all the support
Thank you for informing here on pixls.us. Glad it works for you with drag & drop.
If the problem persists when you have dt 4.6.1 installed (no due date yet), then please report on Issues · darktable-org/darktable · GitHub. There is all the available knowledge on the dt internals present.
But if the problem has disappeared with dt 4.6.1, please let us know here on pixls.us.
I just want to inform you that with the 4.7.0 version dowloaded from post https://discuss.pixls.us/t/darktable-windows-insider-program-1-21/41688
the image import module seems to work fine ( the previous database have been updated )
Well, i was able to recreate the crash programmatically, with version 4.7.0
I created a batch file in order to create a brand new database. the command line is:
H:\Apps\darktable\470_beta\bin\darktable --configdir H:\DTData470\configdir --cachedir H:\DTData470\cachedir --library H:\DTData470\library.db
the crash occurs with this sequence of opertions:
- Start Darktable for the very first time
- Check the setting Storage / look for updated xmp files on startup
- Close Darktable
- Open Darktable
- Import image …Boom
if I uncheck the setting the crash still remain.
if i delete all the files inside the directory DTData470, restart darktable, import an image, everything works fine.
Hope it helps
Update: with version 4.6.0 the crash always occurs
You need to generate a new -d common
