Darktable 4.8.1 (win) crash with file RAF

Hi, I installed the latest version of Darktable (4.8.1) but I notice that it closes every time I try to import RAF files from my Fuji.
I read on the official website that it doesn’t support “Fujifilm lossy RAFs”.
I have always used LOSSLESS compression and previous versions of Darktable have never given me problems.
I then tried shooting compressed, uncompressed and lossless compressed raw but there is no way to open them.

Do you know if it is possible to obtain a log file from which we can perhaps understand something better?

Thank you.

Logging is certainly possible. You’ll have to start darktable from the command-line. In recent versions, the logs go to the documents folder, I think.

Can you upload a problematic raw?

Only in dev version. 4.8.1 still uses the “old”, documented location.

You might also want to try to launch w/ --disable-opencl.

Thanks for pointing out the correct log location.

Actually it closes with any RAW, I attach one at random.
01.RAF (18.1 MB)

I’ll try to start it from the terminal and update you.

I started darktable from the terminal and it started “compiling OpenCL program” but in any case as soon as I imported the RAW file into the library it closed again.
Starting it instead disabling OpenCL as kmilos suggested works fine. What could have happened? From now on I will always have to start it from the terminal by disabling OpenCL. Thanks for the help.

You can disable opencl from the preference settings.

But you should update your GPU drivers to use the ones directly from the OEM website (nvidia or AMD or Intel). A working GPU gives a nice performance bump.

Thank you but unfortunately I don’t have a dedicated video card. I’m away from home for work and I only have a very cheap Lenovo notebook (ryzen3).

Once you get it running with --disable-opencl, you can probably disable the relevant driver here (since you have a Ryzen, it’ll likely be an AMD option):

If you are on Windows, removing the OpenCL compatibility pack may help:

Thank you for giving me support. Disabling the OpenGL drivers makes Darktable boot correctly. Now I check if Microsoft OpenCL compatibility pack is installed and uninstall it. Thank you all very much for your availability.
