Hi guys, as much as I love DT there’s one thing that would make it more perfect for my requirements…
Being able to remove permanently the collections bar, which is at the bottom of the screen upon launch. I use a laptop for editing and having this just takes up too much screen real estate and is surplus to my requirements.
Is there a way of permanently disabling this so that it doesn’t appear whenever I launch DT?
To be clear, I only want to disable the lighter grey part of the image below and retain everything above it.
That looks like the filmstrip in darkroom view…just toggle the little triangle at the bottom of the screen…it cycles through the display of the bottom elements of that view…
When you turn it off and quit darktable it should get written to your darktablerc file. When you start darktable, it should read the darktablerc file and restore the settings.
The entry in the darktablerc file is plugins/lighttable/1/filmstrip_visible=FALSE
mouse wheel scrolls modules side panel by default
When enabled, the mouse wheel scrolls side panels by default and Ctrl+Alt+wheel scrolls data entry fields. When disabled, this behavior is reversed (default off).

One slight gotcha. Scrolling the mouse will scroll the modules, it will not scroll sliders. But it does scroll presets, even when the module is closed One can find some weird things happening to image and think, duh! what did I do? Usually easily correctable with a ctrl-z or (especially if you have altered more than one module), stepping back in the history module.
I’m used to scrolling modules with the wheel, but, occasionally I get clumsy.
