Darktable 5.4 finds my ORF files produced with the Olympus E-510 corrupt.

Hello everyone.

This is my first post on Pixls.us.
I live in the Netherlands and am a hobby photographer with Olympus equipment.
I’ve been using Darktable since version 2.6, and I can handle it quite well, if I say so myself.
After upgrading to 5.4, I have the following problem.
Darktable 5.4 finds the ORF files produced with the Olympus E-510 corrupt. They aren’t, because I can edit them normally with Darktable 5.0.1.
Are other photographers experiencing this problem? The Olympus E-510 is a fairly dated camera. I don’t use it anymore. But I would like to be able to reprocess photos from the past.
Sincerely, Hugo.

I’m able to open it with current dev version so it should be ok wth 5.4.0.

Maybe your file is really corrupt? Can you share one to check?

Here’s one.
It won’t open with DT.
With RapidRad, the file opens without any problems.
I forgot to mention that I’m using Linux LDME 7.

Welcome!

This is a known issue that has been fixed and should appear in the corrective 5.4.1 version.

@kmilos,
Thanks for your reply. I’m glad the DT developers are aware of the issue.
I can now confidently await version 5.4.1.

I just installed Darktable 5.4.1 and tried reading a ORF file from my EM10. This still seems to be an issue.

What issue are you seeing? I own m10ii and no issues.

Could you share one file so we can see if it is a problem we can reproduce. I also wonder if there is an old xmp sidecar file attached causing the issue? I am just guessing and defer to more knowledgeable people here.
