I’ve been running the nightly darktable builds and when I run AI raw denoise on an image, the progress indicator works fairly fast but when I check the image it creates, it’s just completely black. Anyone else run into this? I’m running it on a Mac Mini M2 Pro with 16 GB of memory
Please, first think to do is update all models. We are still in the development cycle, so updates on model side or C code may break compatibility between them. Just delet all models in AI perefrence tab and install them again.
If issue still persists, run darktable with debug logs enabled -d ai. And share logs here. Additional info, at least camera version, is appreciated.
Thanks Andrii. Deleting the models then installing the latest versions resolved both the AI raw denoise as well as the memory issue with neural restore. All is good now. The raw denoise results are quite impressive. I’ve been using DXO Photolab with their DeepPrime XD3 denoising and although it’s still quite good, neural restore and AI raw denoise are very close, just a tiny bit softer. I think the DXO Lens Sharpness Optimization gives it the edge as when I turn it off, the results are almost identical. So well done! I look forward to seeing how your develops. An additional advantage is that the DNG files your work produces are only about half the size of those exported from Photolab!
