how can you correct the distortion of an lens (which is not yet supported) in DT, manually or automatically (as with Rawtherapee)? What do you do if your lens is not supported? Do you korrekt it with Gimp?

You can certainly use another program to correct for lens distortion.
The better answers is to get your lens supported in lensfun which will eventually end up in dartkable.
You can also update your lensfun database to bring in new models.
