Based on the comments from my flextight and colour negadoctor workflow demonstration, I recorded a workflow demo for black and white film contact sheet scan from a flatbed scanner.
Hope this helps others!

Excellent, thank you for sharing! If you’re on mastodon, please darktable so I can boost it.
I’m glad it was helpful!
Peertube is federated with ActivityPub, so you should be able to see the video at the handle @rexbron@tube.hunter.camera
I can see about adding darktable to the video discription and see if it get’s picked up by mastodon.
I’ve tried watching the video on my laptop and my phone, and it constantly spins to load, then plays about 5 seconds, then spins for awhile, then plays a few more seconds. I’m away from my gigabit fiber connection, so don’t know if it’s just slow wifi or something on your hosting end?
It’s self hosted in Toronto, ON, so no CDN in front of it serving video from a local datacentre.
That’s the speed between the server and your receiving device on whatever route the traffic is sent.
@EmerS Lower res transcodes are now enabled, so you may find that playback works with the bandwidth available to you.
So much better, thank you!!
I enjoyed the workflow.
I notuce you use negadoctor to tweak the colors that were evident from the scan. Have you ever skipped that and just used color calibration or some other module to just convert it to monochrome instead? If so, what differences do you notice between other modules and negadoctor to do that?
I have not but there is likely little difference. Why don’t you try and report back?
That’s how i currently convert my digital color images to monochrome. When I scan my negatives I always save them as greyscale TIFFs. I’ll try color TIFF next time.
