Darktable - Print - Printer not listed when turned on

I print under Ubuntu 24.10, newest DT version, printer is SAMBA shared Win printer Canon 200 PRO.

When I forget to turn ON physically the printer first before starting DT, I have to restart DT to have the printer listed in the available printers list. This is quite a PITA, especially as DT loads from the LAN-folder relatively a long time. Also when this would happen quickly, it’s a bit unexpected that switching ON the printer doesn’t render it available in the printer-listing in DT, when it’s available under the OS itself.

After the printer is switched on, the system CUPS printer listing (like under the Settings → Printers) does contain the printer, so it’s not a problem of the OS or CUPS. It’s just DT which does not refresh the printer-listing when entering the print-module once the printer is ON.

DT should always reload/refresh the CUPS printers when entering the printer-module, so the user doesn’t have to restart the whole DT process.

PS: The prints come beautiful and the color-management is spot-on btw  !
