A separate topic from the marketplace… but in my search for styles for darktable, I stumble upon this:
The Ultimate Darktable Master Collection, it is apparently a collection of .dtstyle files for darktable, but they sell it!
So I am wondering… Is anyone familiar with this collection… And it is possible that is just not legal, given some on the copyrights with darktable??
The examples are absolutely horrid 
How would it not be legal to sell style files (provided they are not copied from another user without proper permissions)?
That is what I am wondering, did they just copy stuff… because I can’t see any market for paid darktable styles…
How many copies would you sell, seriously. I can’t see that it profitable in any way…
So I would not be surprised if they just have copied stuff…

It’s legal, but you could definitely question the ethics of selling something this bad. 
How do you know? If they even took one style uploaded to this forum, they are in violation
but it received a five star rating, so it must be good 
I’ve noticed lately so many restaurants with hundreds of five star reviews on Google Maps, often after they’ve been open for just weeks or months… and strangely they turn out to be… terrible
Having noscript and uBlock is sometimes very interesting. It will show the captions and alternative descriptions for images if you block the actual image (when available)… so maybe you get 3 mugs with your $15 preset pack. lol
That depends. If the author made the style available under e.g. CC0, anyone can take the style and do with it whatever they want…
You can disagree with the sale of styles, but unless you have proof for your claims, the kind of allegations you imply here could be considered defamatory. “Innocent until proven guilty” applies here as well: if you feel their sales are illegal, it’s up to you to provide proof, not them.

No I am not disagreeing with selling styles… and I am certainly not accusing them of being illegal.
I am just wondering if anyone does know what they are offering.
Because I can’t really see how this is economically viable unless you just copy whatever… but almost anything what I found online was a non-commercial license.
And yes, their examples are horrible
