Darktable 4.8.1 on Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon.
I am trying to use Tethering with my Sony A7 III. I can see the camera, get a live view and managed to take a shot on one occasion, but it locks up after a little while and I have to kill Darktable and restart it.
I tried starting it from command line but that did not give me any new information.
How can I fix this, or at least get more information on the cause.
Thanks
Mick
Did you read / check darktable 4.9 user manual - troubleshooting ? And you can start darktable from the command line with debug option -d
(see darktable 4.9 user manual - darktable). I suspect -d camctl
would be appropriate, if not you can start with -d common
and see what you get.
Well thank you for that, the first thing I discovered is that I did not have gphoto2 installed. I am surprised that Darktable didn’t install it, or at least give me an error message.
I can now keep the session open and take shot, so a lot of progress. I suspect I have other issues but a lot may be my lack of understanding of the operation.
I will read through the manual.
Mick
You should contact your distro’s packager, there is nothing darktable the application can do.
