Darktable v 3.4 very slow on MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro 2015 with
Big Sur 11.2
2.2 GHz Quad i7
16GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel Pro 1536 MB

All Darktable processes are very laggy (for example - at least 10 - 20seconds for exposure slider small adjustments, and longer for other tools).

Does anyone have any ideas or is this to be expected? I am new to Darktable, having used Lightroom

Are you using waveform or histogram? I had same issue, but it only happened when using waveform. Not sure if 3.4.1 fixed it, haven’t downloaded yet. For now I just keep it on histogram.

@MStraeten regularly compiles the lastest version of Darktable, it’s specifically compiled for it and fast :slight_smile: Version 3.4 is not customized.
