date-time stamp on thumbnails shows as UTC

Using digikam, I notices that the date-time stamp of thumbnails and in the metadata shows as UTC.
I’ve check, using exiftool -time:all -a -G0:1 -s filename.mp4, and the exif data has the correct local camera time.

I guess this might be nice if I was a large company ingesting images from camera operators all over the world.

How can I get digikam to show the exif date without adjusting it to UTC?

My environment is gnu/linux - ubuntu 16.4 running the gnome desktop and digikam 5.6

Does the same thing happen for photographs?

As far as I know, there are some limitations with the underlying library for video files.

Thanks for your quick response.
I’m now looking at some more files and types of files and I’m not sure what is going on. This may all be self-induced.
The few I looked at were all off by the difference between utc and local but now I’m looking at a bigger sample and that rule doesn’t seem to apply.

I’m going to do some more detailed analysis.
I jumped to a conclusion without following proper science principles. Sorry.
