I cant say mine is a ton different than the original version. Less clarity/local contrast and a little lighter. I have a love/hate relationship with clouds so thanks for a fun play!
And now for something completely different… 
I used this as a learning exercise. Started with b&w conversion in color rgb followed by a 2nd instance where I added split-tone colorization in the 4-way tab (using the vectorscope as a guide - in this case keeping colors in a single, straight line).
Not better, but different.
