I have some photos with the wrong date. I only noticed when I imported them in digikam. Since digikam can only update the exif data one picture at a time, I used exiftool to update all at once.
The problem now is that digikam is still showing the old date. “Refresh” does not do the job. I’ve confirmed (using geeqie) that the exif fields have in fact been udpated.
Does anyone know how to convince digikam to re-read the exif dates?
Update: of course I found the solution right after posting: select photos, click on menu “Item”, select “reread metadata from selected files”.
Update 2: warning: re-reading metadata of raw files will delete their tags (at least in my digikam configuration), so apply this solution with care.
