DigiKam (Version 9.0.0) does not recognize the ratings (stars) and tags assigned to photos in darktable. Does anyone know how to help me integrate these two software applications?
As shown in the images, I have already forced a reread of the database and configured digiKam to recognize darktable XMP file formats.
As you can see, the sidecar format generated by darktable on my system is “file.ARW.xmp”.
Strange, I never had that problem.
I start importing images in digikam, for first culling and tagging, then go to darktable (where stars are assigned). On returning to digikam, I need to reread the metadata of the affected files, but then stars etc. are updated. Select the affected images (I usually select all in the directory) and use the “items” menu.
I do try to avoid adding/changing tags in darktable, there are some differences in the way those two programs handle tag trees which I haven’t figured out yet.
What’s not updated are colour labels, but there digikam and dt use a different strategy anyway (digikam allows at most one colour label per image, dt allows multiple colour labels per image).
