digiKam export to local disk problem

If I select a tif image to export a jpg to local disk, and specify the same folder as the original I get the following error message: “Some of the items have not been copied and are still in the list. You can retry to copy these items now.” Any ideas?

Hello, I don’t know the inner workings of this ‘export to local disk’ thing, but if you check the option ‘Use the album path of the items in the target’ then that error msg disappears.

Strange thing at first sight is that the photos are exported not to the same directory but to a subdir. In my case, the original is in
fotoos/varia/bwscans/scans_jan24
and the exported photos end up in
fotoos/varia/bwscans/scans_jan24/varia/bwscans/scans_jan24.

Without doubt there is some logic behind this and without doubt there must be a way to export to the same dir, but for the moment I don’t see how.

This is an export tool to copy images to other directories or drives outside of your image collection. We at least make sure that they don’t overwrite their source images. So we check whether source folder/image == target folder/image and abort.
