Does anyone know how to search for multiple keywords at the same time?
E.g. digiKam should show every picture that matches at least one of the keywords.
Use Advanced Search. Enter the first keyword, then add a search group, make sure itâs set to âORâ and enter the next keyword. Repeat for additional keywords.
Or use advanced search, and make sure to set the option to the right of the tag selection to âIn one ofâ or âIn treeâ (not sure what the difference between these two is).
Much easier than creating a group for every tag you want to select.
Sure, if you want multiple tags itâs easier to just select those than a new group. I was assuming (yes, I shouldnât assume!) OP was using the âKeywordsâ field at the top, though, which will also search captions, title, etc. as well as tags. If itâs something that youâd do often, Iâd create a saved search for each number of keywords, so youâd have a â2-keywordâ through âN-keywordâ saved search. That would allow you to select it, edit the current search, and type in new search terms in those fields instead of having to add new groups all the time.
Hello @ashurbanipal,
Where do you enter OR? And where can you enter other tags?
I donât see the âORâ option until I add another search group. So Iâd enter my first keyword, then click the âAdd Search Groupâ. The option shows up there (I believe OR is the default). Like this:
If you want to search using tags, Iâd recommend following the advice given by @rvietor as itâs quicker to choose the tags in the list and you donât need to add another search group.
Perhaps I donât understand your question. I suppose you mean with âkeywordsâ tags?
If thatâs the case, I can select on the left side of the interface, in the Tags tab, several tags by holding the Ctrl key and Digikam shows all the photos that matches at least one of the tags.
Thanks, found this OR now. Yes, this is a complicated process.
Perfect - this is exactly what I was looking for.
Previously I had tried to enter multiple tags at the bottom, in the search box, with or without separators (; or /) - but none of that worked. Your method is wonderful and very easy to use.
Thank you.
