digikam scan shows folders but missing files

Trying digikam for DAM functionality on a Windows 11 machine. I have just shy of 200,000 images and videos that are on an external drive and total about 6TB. I have tried 5 scans. All of the folders show in digikam but not all of the files. In the “Labels” window the most I can get to show is 48,731 of the 200,000. In the “Albums” window a few folders show images but most do not.
If I trigger a new scan it seems to just goes through the folders it already has and not pick up any of the missing ones.
Is 200,000 more than digikam can handle?
Is there a way to trigger a scan of a particular folder?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Certainly not. You might want to consider running MySQL instead of SQLite.

Are you sure you have the correct permissions on the external disk?

I will look into using MySQL.
I think the permissions should be fine. Other programs like XnView MP and iMatch can find and interact with the files.

Any other suggestions or thoughts on this? As the title indicates digiKam finds all of the folders, however, it only finds about 30,000 out of 125,000 images that are in those folders. Similar for the video folders. Over the past 6 months I have tried various ways to try to get it to pick up the missing files. Refresh, Scan For New Images, Repair Hidden Images and other suggested solutions. So far, it has not picked up the missing files.

Are those RAW files, or jpg/png’s?

Mostly jpgs. Some pngs. Maybe a few of something else. Of the files that it has picked up there are both jpg and png. The ones that it did pick up tend to show up under the Labels tab but not the Albums tab although that is not absolute. Videos are mostly mp4.

Hello Michael, your database may be corrupt. Try to clean it via Tools - Maintenance - Perform database cleaning.

If that does not work, you can try to rename Digikams databases (add the extension .off to them) and rebuild the database (= like running Digikam for the first time).

Paul, thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I have tried both of those several times. I just tried the maintenance step again and it didn’t find any additional files.
