digikam 6.0 is looking good and coming on strong.
Albeit such as XnViewMP offers a plentitude of tools, batching and arrangement of files - digikam doesn’t lag behind. In fact digiKam is quality code as it hardly ever crashes compared to such as “Xn”.
DK is a magnificent alternative to such strongholds as Lightroom & PhotoSupreme.
Could digikam have folder view? CLicking parent folder would bring forth sub-folder in the central view? With thumbnails (sub-folders images as thumbs)?
I hope devs would have an eye around LR (bleh), PhotoSupreme and most of all XnViewMP… Excluding raw development and such - XnViewMP is a great challenger as it’s so versatile, fluid and flexible.
For example in Xn one can set folders with stars, color codes, etc.
Different possibilities for layout.
In digiKam panels and such could “free-float” not be “rigid”?
Preview window possible to have on the layout without clicking, clicking, clicking…?
Try to browse eg. 500 pictures… You’ll be faster with Xn and get them also deleted faster what not worth keeping.
