All the modules that refuse to work for these files are applied before demosaicing. So they may written for a bayer matrix. In that case, they can’t work on monochrome files. You can’t just look at any neighbouring pixel on a standard raw file , you have to take the colour channel into account. So you need to know the filter matrix layout, and that info is missing here (because there are no filters).
E.g. the hot pixel filter: you don’t want that to look at the directly neighbouring pixels, only at neighbouring pixels of the same colour (think of parts of the image with e.g. saturated red, no green or blue: every red pixel would be hot if you look at the directly neighbouring pixels…)
