DNG File Now Added: Hazy Day in Balcary Bay

Edit: Linking to DNG file uploaded by @popanz below as original RAW file posted is unsupported.

Wondered if anyone could come up with a different take on this subdued shot.

Bad idea for a Play Raw. RT and dt both refuse to open it.

Oh crap. I didn’t realise that LUMIX G9ii isn’t yet supported. I thought that had changed as I can open it on my PC but I guess that’s cos I did some workaround ages ago. I can delete the post.

Why don’t you post it as a DNG?

I used digikam for converting it to DNG. Here is the file:

Thanks

I like to play with hazy shots:

Retinex

Contrast-Limited Adaptive Histogram Expansion on top of Retinex

GIMP Hue/Chroma/Lightness and USM on top of CLAHE

Eagle-eyed viewers will note the halos …

DT5.1 Probably a bit of a vanilla edit.

It’s defo better than mine. Contrast helps, as does the widescreen. I think the brutal 1:1 crop above works best in terms of composition. I was just a bit attached to the mobile home even though I could tell the expanse of empty scrub grass didn’t really work when I took the shot.

I tried to crop out the mobile home but felt the crop was too excessive. I liked the rough stonework of the fence and old building the most.
