dreamy bloom at the lake

A shot from my aunts garden.

I was struggeling with this one to get it “right”. Heres a rendition with the experimental dt-spektrafilm:

Note: this .xmp requires an experimental build of dt including the spektrafilm module but please feel free to use what you like with this raw  . I just wasn’t able to surpass the spektrafilm result with 5.6.

I actually softened this landscape based on inspiration I once got from @lphilpot who taught this old dog a new trick that sometimes sharpness is not needed in every landscape.

Love your crop. I wasn’t aware yet how well the lines of the branches at the top and of the lawn edge harmonized.

Using the darktable 5.7.0+135 from the nightly build. A really nice shot and easily to handle.

I tried to bloom the pink colour out with DorS, but that’s something I can’t usually get right with that module. Don’t know if it’s a limitation of me or the module though.
I’ve removed some local contrast in the greens, but I like the bright greens in other edits.

I used a relatively small ellipse with a very large soft edge as a mask.

Lots of bokeh already; decided to add more (via G’MIC’s Bokeh preset). Did a few other enhances and voila.

For a bonus, why not a seamless texture as well.

Small lightbulb moment; I managed to get a stronger pink bloom around the flowers with DorS.
