DT Composite module not using history stack

Hello,

I am using DT for some time and am trying out the composite module currently.
I noticed that in the description of the module it is stated that the whole history stack of the overlayed image is being used, but that is not the case for me.

I deliberately edited the image I want to use in the base image (base image: building, overlay: mountains) so that it is way overexposed and has that yellow/orange cast in the top right corner.
But those two edits (just expossure and color balance rgb modules used) do not show up, when I use this edit as composite in the image with the building.

Is this a bug, am I using it wrong or is there some setting I missed?
Using the flathub version on Fedora.

Hey there and welcome to the forum,
after a bit of experimentation I can confirm the behavior you are describing. Looking a the module-stack in the target image the composit module is pretty early in the pipeline, even before the exposure module. For this reason it seems plausible that only the base image is imported (probably after applying a couple of basic modules: I.e. demosaic etc. and apparently white balance as the effects of white balance actually carry over to the target image. Changing “Exposure” in the source image also doesnt change the output of the composit module in the target image.

Thus most of the history stack is rather ignored then referenced… I think the documentation is wrong in that point and the behaviour.

Confusingly the preview of the imported image shows the preview including the whole history stack…
