DT crashing on Export

I often experience that dt (4.8.1, installed from OBS) crashes on my Linux Mint 21.3 (Ubuntu 22.04 based) when I try to export a processed image.

Is there anything in these settings that is likely to challenge the system? (I’ve tried both with and without High quality resampling. The folder name has been selected from file browser.)

EDIT:
Sometimes I get the “exporting” message in the main window, but no final confirmation of the creation of the file, an no file has been exported - without dt crashing.

Do you use OpenCL? Does toggling the option affect the crash? If yes, what video card and driver? Are the drivers up to date? What are your resource settings? Did you, by chance, set anything to unlimited, or did you enable use all device memory?

Your best bet is to start dt from terminal using darktable -d common. Share the the log as it should provide some guidance into what is the root cause of the crash.

I understand that this is an old and stale post, but there seems to be no resolution to the issue at hand, and I’ve recently bumped into similar difficulties.

I’m running on ubuntu 24.04, and as far as I see, nothing is set to unlimited or use all device memory on my installation of darktable 5.4.1.

Darktable reliable crashes with exports, even with images that I could handle a week ago. The only thing that has happened since is a small ubuntu update tonight, so I assume that that might be the culprit, but I don’t know which package that would be.

The length of the pixelpipe has no significance, images with no processing whatsoever also fail.

I attach a typical backtrace, if that helps.

Any comments would be welcome.

It seems that one of the packages was outdated. After I updated the system, darktable appears to be happy.
