So here I have exported the same CR3 file as a PNG and then as a TIFF. In DT the PNG looks totally wrong. However, the problem seems to be that the PNG opens with the wrong input profile while the TIFF opens with the correct profile. Am I the only one experiencing this issue? I am on Windows 4.9 weekly latest build.
This won’t be helpful but I exported 3 file variants to 16-bit PNG with compresson 5 as in your screenshot… srgb adobergb and linear rec2020…
Variants one and 3 report the actual profile name of the profile when loaded back into DT and its correct, and variant 2 uses the embedded label and hovering over it seems correct…
I’m maybe a little behind you…not much has changed so I have not been updating quite as often…
4.9.0+213~g768d772a49
EDIT
Just built it to day and I can confirm it ignores profile setting from export box and output profile it would seem… I will double check one more time… I will go an see if any code changes seem like they could impact it…
Edit
Looking in the exif data the right profiles do seem to be embedded…its just reading them back into DT the input profile for me says srgb for all of them but clearly the correct profile is embedded as linear rec2020 opens a dark image with the embedded profile…so not sure what has changed about the reporting/reading colorspaces… I will check a couple more times to see if it is consistent… going back a couple of weeks there was some code merged related to colorspaces… if anybody else can confirm I can put in a bug report… I think we are both using windows or no …just me…
