These aren’t meant to be artistic, more like “tech demos” for my software. Each one is a frame from 14-bit RAW 1080p footage from my Canon 5D Mark III (using Magic Lantern). I’ve discussed my approach elsewhere on this site.

I’m trying to simulate the look of projected motion picture film (in this case, the tone curve of Kodak Double-X plus 2302 print film, applied to each RGB channel), so if the pictures look too dim on your phone try watching them on a bigger screen in a dark environment.

Cool! Take a look at the recent activity history for @arctic who seems to be on to something very interesting when it comes to be film (and paper) emulation. @arctic’s software does halation too.

Yes he and I have discussed this and we seem to be using the same method.
