It reminds me of the Clint Eastwood movie…
Wow… The Eiger Sanction (1975). I know what I’ll be watching now
Nice picture to play with, thanks for sharing. I tried to keep it somehow “natural”.
Edited with darktable 5.1.0 (957)
Great picture. Let me also think of Clint Eastwood. The pictures of the film, the actors and him, hang in the old Grandhotel Bellevue right in the hallway in front of the old wooden bar. I had the opportunity to spend an extended ski weekend there over two decades. At that time, before it was renovated, still really everything original, as in the movie. That was really great, and expensive, and fortunately I didn’t have to pay it myself

I prefer the edit in the original post over my edit which feels dull.
A second attempt adding a second instance of local contrast masked to everywhere except the bus using DT5.1

Now the darkness of the bus worried me so I used a second instance of exposure masked to just the bus to brighten it a little.

relative using the color.org appearance profile which seems less strong for relative renders
I tried to re-create a darker “early morning” look…
Made with darktable 5.1 …
We are every year in Lauterbrunnen for skiing. A beautiful area. Unfortunately, they did a lot of (in my eyes brutal) modernizations in the last years. The V-Bahn is in my opinion an oversized monster in the middle of the alps and has robbed of the region a good deal of its charm.
or more like that?

I’m currently in a phase where I feel the need to try the multiply blend mode in every darktable module. It’s a lot of fun, and I’m slowly getting a feel for the effect and where it might suit my taste. I’m still deep in experimentation mode. In this image, I actually used multiply twice: once in the exposure module to boost contrast right away, and again to add a touch of bloom to the sky and the mountains - which conveniently also helped tone down some clipped highlights that were already present in the RAW file. Of course, all of this could be achieved through other means as well, as usual. Thanks for sharing the image! it was a joy to work on.

I thought I had a pretty good edit. Then, I saw yours and I said, “Well, damn.” I am at a loss to know what to do. I’m not even going to post mine.
Great edit!
Don’t dare to! This is no competition and you often have very nice edits. Especially when I take into account that you have problems with your eyesight. And sometimes just the idea of doing something different is helping other people including me. So please don’t hesitate to show your edit.
