Emerging Cicada

Found this cool cicada the other day. The photos have been fun to play with. I have different apertures of it. Here’s one at f/16 and f/4.5.

Great shot! My play in GIMP. I have tried to bring out the transparency of the wings.

Reminds me of my technique to spot cicadas (at least the Mediterranean kind). They aren’t stupid, they stop singing when they feel threatened, which means when they see you. So you slowly go around the tree, and note the sector where the cicada stops singing. Then you search the cicada in the tree along the center of the sector.
