Error in opening image in Rawtherapee

Hi there… i am new in using Rawtherapee and I installed RT 5.0. Im trying to figure out why some raw picture just shows a white image with square dots but some raw pictures shows the image properly. Can someone help me?

5.1 is out, too. You might have luck with that. Is it consistent, always the same raw files not displaying?

Yep it is consistent… I just don’t understand why tho… okay i will try to install the latest version. @HIRAM

Please update to version 5.1.

Are your Fuji files compressed?

@paperdigits I believe the images are not compressed… it’ s what it is directly from the camera…

Can you upload a sample RAF file to https://filebin.net

So unfortunately, installing the 5.1 didn’t help. :frowning:

@p_ini Please follow the advice of @paperdigits to upload a sample file

You can also just upload/drag-and-drop the .RAF file right into a post here…

Tried the sample file on both the git branch and stable 5.1 with the same result. Darktable is also having trouble reading it claiming that it’s an unknown format.
Other RAF samples I have read fine on all three.

Which camera is it from?

Salut, Sebastien,

His camera seems to be a Fuji X-A3.

X-A3 uses a Bayer CFA, maybe RT thinks it is X-Trans and loads the wrong demosaicing algorithm?

Rawspeed doesn’t support that camera. That’s why darktable can’t open it.

:frowning: if it doesn’t support the files from xa3, do you know any software that I can use to edit the pictures? Thank u all so much for your replies!

Maybe you can help in getting it supported. Please check if your camera can shoot different aspect ratios, different kinds of compression or different raw styles (bit depth, …). If there are more than one alternative you might want to take sample shots (@LebedevRI can give details) and upload them to https://raw.pixls.us/ – that’s help us in getting the camera supported.

Okay thank you so much @houz!

No, it’s simply not supported by dcraw. Some info: it’s 14 bit uncompressed raw data.
Edit: I’m currently not sure about the data being 14 bit…

@p_ini

Did you get a CD/DVD containing software with the camera?
If not, surf to www.fujifilm.com and search for software for your model,
for instance their RFC /raw file converter/ made by Silkypix. Its
full name is RAW FILE CONVERTER EX 2.0 powered by SILKYPIX.

Good luck!
