Error when stacking drizzled SER unless threads capped at 4

Hi,

i am encountering an error/crash when stacking drizzled images as ser-sequence:

  1. converting images to ser
  2. drizzle registration 1x
  3. average with rejection stacking → error
  • error happens reliably on external usb3 ssd, but also occasionally on internal nvme ssd
  • error happens with cr3 and tiff files of varying resolutions
  • error happens with and without zram
  • error happens most often with 20 or more images

temporary workaround:

  • use fits images or fits sequence
  • use ser but drop threads from 8 to 4

Information:

OS: OpenSuse Tumbleweed 20260821 KDE-Plasma 6.7.4
Siril version: 1.4.4 installed via zypper
Hardware: 16gb RAM, i5 1135G7
Ressource usage: RAM at 80-90%, swap under 50%

Hope this helps, clear skies, J.
