I have been hacking on my photo forensics tool lately and because I found a few references to it implemented a tool to perform Principal Component Analysis on the colors of a photo. To cut a long story short, I quite liked the black & white renditions the procedure generated. So I created a little tool to experiment with this a bit more.

(Please check your link at the bottom of your tool [https://29a.ch/2016/07/07/black-and-white-photo-pca/]; it does not work.)
[/quote]Yes, this is a sneak peak at this experiment. I have not yet announced it on my website so the blog post does not yet exist either.
@Jonas_Wagner.
In a previous life, probably before you were born I shot and processed many rolls of black and white.
Then since I returned to photography around three years ago I’ve never had much success with black and white.
In March I bought a Fuji camera a few days before going to Southern Ireland for two weeks, some of the resulting photos were stunning but some were always lacking something,
Anyway to cut a long story short, I tried out your tool on the Ireland photos and it was a WOW moment.
Some of the previously “lacking” photos absolutely shone
So a big thanks for such an easy tool to use, which gives such stunning results.
