Can somebody please point me to the relevant part of the manual - I can’t find any discussion of these.
You need to wait until summer 2024.
Also, see:
So simple - thanks. I spent about 20 mins this morning going back and forth through the ToC (on the HTML current and past versions of the doc), but didn’t associate ‘shared’ with ‘export’.
The information in the manual doesn’t tell me an awful lot more than what I was assuming. is it possible to give some (entirely qualitative) guidance on when (ball-park) upscaling will introduce a significant number of artifacts - based on the attitude the user has about ‘quality’ of particular image for that specific export target use?
Sorry, I read upscaling and assumed it was the new module. My bad
You do realise that I have a global, lifetime, exclusive licence to make mistakes (especially larger, embarrassing, ‘curl up in a ball’ ones) on this channel? Your mistakes are, accordingly, ignored. Your post did make me go back and check what version of dt I was running though.
No way is that license exclusive, btw
From my perspective, upscaling is almost useless - it will just go from pixelated to fuzzy.
(Edit - not just DT, any upscaling that doesn’t use machine learning or similar to improve apparent detail)
But I may well be missing something. On the very rare occasions when I need to crop a photo so hard that there’s not enough resolution for the final item, I’ve used Upscayle with ok results.
I have never tried upscaling in DT but I would be interested in the opinion of those who have. I am also interested in the new module for upscaling when it is released.
Where can I read more about it? I’ve just installed the latest Windows nightly but don’t see a new module…
I can’t find anything on GitHub either. But I’m no GitHubbub master.
It enlarges the canvas and allows it to be filled with other content. It was merged a few days ago.
Wow!
Does “other content” mean, like I hope, that we will finally be able to create diptychs in dt?
