Filmvert: Film inversion software

Haven’t tried it, since I don’t shoot film, but figured some here would find it interesting or useful.

looks very interesting. downloaded and installed, let you know how i get on.
thanks for that

first impressions on tri-x 400 - oh yeah, i like this. default settings gave very good results very quickly.
I’ll play with it some more and post some photos (may take a while)
Good find, A+

hi
a brief comparison between my darktable | negadoctor workflow and Filmvert negative conversion.

darktable

Import raw scan into darktable

let negadoctor do its thing and bring histogram into middle region

a few more bits and bobs to lose the colour cast, get the tones how i want and knock back some of the grain. Rotate and crop to finish.

Filmvert

Import new image/s into Filmvert, make new roll to insert images to, give the roll a name and directory and create roll.

Click image/s in bottom filmstrip, click analyze. Et viola!

Max and min red dots can be moved around to adjust black and white point. Enter some metadata if desired, save / export image/s to roll folder and done!

Any issues?
It did crash a few times as I figured out how to save / export images but that says more about my unfamiliarity (ineptitude) than any app instability.

Will I use it again?
Absolutely. Its practically a one click solution to negative film conversion. I’ll be using Filmvert as the first step in my b&w negative conversion (unless or until I spend a bit, probably a lot, of time finessing my use of negadoctor)
